Coronavirus update: New holistic space, health and safety procedures and treatments

Updated: Jul 27, 2022

I don’t know about you, but for me the last couple of months have been a whirlwind!

As lockdown guidance for beauty and holistic practitioners changed from (1) don’t work at all, to (2) offer a limited service to (3) everything’s back on the table, I’ve been working flat out! It feels so good to be back at work and supporting my lovely clients again during these difficult times. Here’s what’s changed.

Changes at Jody’s Haven

New treatment space, health and safety procedures, and new treatments for 2020!

For me, not working for the first four months of lockdown was the hardest part. I missed my clients and felt a bit guilty for not being at work – probably like most people who are on furlough, are self-employed (like me) or who have been made redundant (if this is you, I hope you’re OK – and please take care of yourself).

Once the beauty and holistic industry got the green light to reopen, I got stuck into turning a previously unloved part of our farmhouse into a beautiful, calming space that would also let me put stricter hygiene measures in place for clients’ safety.

I have to say that it looks absolutely fab, and it gives you, my lovely clients:

  • Your own dedicated entrance to Jody’s Haven – complete with a homemade sign crafted by my husband Si!

  • Your own dedicated toilet (with eco-friendly, hygienic hand-drying – no disposables here if I can help it!)

  • Your own dedicated shower (this is in case you try one of my luxury full-body scrub and polish treatments)

These new COVID-19 measures mean that you can have confidence in the cleanliness and hygiene of the treatment room, as everything can be (and is) cleaned between client visits. Even my elephant wall hanging has been framed behind a wipeable surface!

I’m also conducting treatments in full PPE, which I change between every client, as well as sanitising all my equipment and following social distancing rules where possible.

If you want to know more about the measures I’m taking to help you stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, have a look at my Federation of Holistic Therapists certificate and guidelines on the Jody’s Haven homepage.

After months of missing out on seeing my lovely clients, the renewed sense of focus I got from creating my new relaxing treatment space, gaining certification in safe practices during coronavirus, and developing new treatments has been just what I needed.

Which treatments are now available?

The government gave the green light to facial treatments in mid August, which means you can now access all Jody’s Haven holistic and beauty treatments (unless you’re shielding), including:

Beauty treatments

  • Eyebrow and facial waxing

  • Eyebrow and eyelash treatments

  • Pure gel nail polish manicures and pedicures

Massage treatments

  • Swedish massage

  • Reflexology massage

  • Aromatherapy massage

Spa treatments:

  • Amazon Heatwave: Rasul Experience

  • Natural Spa Factory Rose Back Facial

  • Full body salt scrub and polish

New beauty treatments for 2020

I have two lovely new treatments (which are also on special offer for September):

  • My stunning new natural face lift massage

  • Aromaflex: a relaxing combination of aromatherapy, massage and reflexology

Natural Face Lift Massage

Recently I was so excited to train in this wonderful new facial therapy which is designed to tone and tighten the skin and facial muscles, reduce expression lines and wrinkles, and rejuvenate the skin for a more youthful appearance – as well as much more!

Part of the training meant that I received the treatment myself. It was so relaxing that I actually fell asleep on the massage table – this has never happened to me before!

As you probably know, I’m a huge fan of effective alternatives to cosmetic surgery and injections. I don’t think the more invasive treatments hold up well over time, and I believe in complementary therapies that are better for the body and, being holistic, boost your overall well-being.

The natural face lift massage combines acupressure, Indian and Japanese facial massage techniques as well as lymphatic drainage; it’s a facial that’s beneficial for different clients with different needs (whether anti-ageing or anti-acne, for example) and it has a host of whole-person benefits, including relieving stress symptoms such as insomnia, headaches and eye strain.

Natural face lift massage special offer

At the moment I’m looking for a limited number of people who are willing to share their before and after photos and experiences of the face lift massage as part of a case study. These clients would receive a generous discount on a course of four treatments (£100!) so I highly recommend you get in touch with me as soon as you can if you’re interested.

Aromatherapy / reflexology massage – Aromaflex

Perfect for these strange and often stressful times, Aromaflex is a soothing massage treatment that includes an aromatherapy massage on your back, neck and shoulders, plus reflexology to offer balance from top to toe. I’m offering these two massage treatments together, during an hour and a half to an hour and forty-five minute (90 to 105 min) session, for just £45 rather than £60!

Get in touch

If you have any questions about which treatments are available, how the new treatment space and procedures help keep you safe, or if you want to join the case study programme for the Natural Face Lift Massage, please get in touch. I’d love to hear from you!
