FAQs
Not sure what to do once you get here, or how early to arrive? I've answered many of your questions below. If you're still not sure about something, please get in touch and I'll be happy to help.
Getting here
How early shall I arrive?
A maximum of 5 minutes before your booked time is preferable as I don’t have a receptionist or a waiting area so would not be able to accommodate anyone any earlier than that if a previous client has overrun.
Are you easy to find?
Sat Nav doesn't always bring you to the door. If you find yourself in the quarry way business park turning, take the opposite turning and you will arrive at our drive on the left.
Will I be able to park easily when I attend a treatment?
Yes. No other clients will be booked at the same time as you, so come up onto the driveway, and park on the hard standing opposite the house.
The treatments
How much time should I allow for the whole treatment?
You need to add approximately 15 minutes to each of the treatment times stated in the Treatments pages to allow for consultation (a little longer on your first visit) and relaxing at the end of the treatment.
Can I bring someone with me to the treatment?
Yes. There's room for one person to relax in the treatment room while you're there. They may like to bring something to read.
What should I wear to a treatment?
Anything comfortable is fine, and I would recommend something warm to put on afterwards as your temperature can drop quite a lot during a treatment.
What products do you use?
For massage, I use almond oil for the base and if you would like aromatherapy oils blended with this, I will help you choose the right ones for your needs. I also have alternatives for anyone allergic to nuts.
I use Nature Spa Factory skincare, which is sustainably made in Bath, UK and has a natural, inclusive ethos. I am also able to make custom products designed for you as part of a treatment.
I use Gelish for long-lasting nail art and manicures.
Are any of the products you use for sale?
Yes. I can order any of the products that I use for you and offer competitive prices on those products. I can advise on which products would be best for your skin, and carry many of my favourites in stock so that if you fall in love with something during a treatment, chances are you can take it home with you and continue to look and feel amazing. I can also put together gift packs which can be combined with a voucher to make wonderful presents. See my Christmas gift guide for ideas.
Can I pay by card?
Yes.
Do you treat children?
Yes – children can benefit greatly from massage, and little treatments such as nail painting and ear piercing. Allow half the time and half the price for under 12 year olds. I'll need consent from the child's legal guardian and will provide a form for you to sign.
What if I have to cancel my appointment?
You won't be charged for the appointment time if you give 24-hours' notice; otherwise you'll be liable to pay the full amount of your treatment.
How do I recommend your service for a friend?
I'm happy to accept new female client however new male clients must come with high recommendations from people I know / long term clients.
After the treatment
Can I drive home after a treatment?
Most people feel quite able to drive home, especially as time is allowed for you to come round, but if you're worried, have someone pick you up.
What should I do after the treatment?
You will be given a comprehensive list of things to do and things to avoid that will enhance your treatment. The main ones are to plan to be able to rest for as long as possible afterwards, drink plenty of water and avoid eating a heavy meal.
What about health conditions?
What if I am taking prescription medication?
Most prescription medicines won't be adversely affected by the treatment, but it would be helpful to know at the time of booking if you have any serious health issues.
Likewise, some aromatherapy oils and products can't be used alongside certain conditions, so the more I can know about these, the more likely it will be to work out the best way forward.
In some cases, it is necessary to seek the advice of your doctor, so if you think this may be the case, please do this before you book.
What if I'm pregnant?
There are certain oils, treatments and products that should not be used during pregnancy. Massage, however, can be adapted to suit and can be very beneficial for helping with relaxation etc. Reflexology, waxing, and spray tanning should be avoided – at least in the first 3 months of pregnancy.
